Building A “Golden” Network & More!

Your Golden Network is your Love Club!  Learn how to build a “golden” network  in chapter five of my book “The Love Club: a new approach to business networking”   “SmartNetworking is about building and nurturing relationships only with your “golden” network.   I call these your “7-10’s.”

How to Fast Track building A “Golden” Network Initially I ask my clients to make a list of everyone they know (professionally and personally) that likes, trusts and respects them.  The best way to find more great clients and referral partners is from these people.  Be sure to share your Ideal Profiles with them.  They can’t give you what you want if you don’t tell them what it is.

Get Clear, Be Strategic and Take Action Now!

Three Good Tools for Growing Your Business (and Golden Network)

  1. Writing
  2. Speaking
  3. Teaching

Writing includes articles, blogs, books and comments.  Your goal is to educate and showcase your expertise, experience and success!  Pay attentions to trends and what your competition is saying.  How can you state it differently based on your unique brand.  What intersections do you work at?  Mine are Business and Psychology as well as Counseling and Coaching.  Pick a topic that highlights your added value.  Set yourself apart through what you write (and speak) about.

Speaking and Teaching have the potential to be very powerful. You reveal your personality more through speaking.  Your energy, body language and facial expressions help your audience feel more connected to you.  It’s hard to like or know an author the way you like or feel like you know someone you met in person.  Video is second best in my opinion.

If you don’t like selling or asking for business (most don’t!) then Education is absolutely for you.  The Good News is it’s the BEST way to get business.  Get help from a ghost writer or editor and a marketing professional to create a captivating presentation.   Consider hiring a speaking coach.  The cost is insignificant compared to the benefits.  Make it easy for the reader or listener to contact you.  This is VERY important.

Good Networkers are Helpers and Givers When selecting clients make sure they are natural helpers and givers.  Networking is a necessary part of building a successful business.  It helps if you love helping others and readily give without expecting anything in return.  This does not discount the importance of having mutually beneficial and respectful relationships.
