I Wish I Had…

Wishing lets you know what is important to you.  It helps you clarify what you want and stay focused on your highest priorities. People say… I Wish I Had, when they are feeling bad. There is something they want that they don’t have yet!

You may hear yourself or others say… I wish I had more free time, money, energy or friends.  We all make choices along the way that we regret.  Unfortunately, wishing doesn’t make you feel better. Getting what you want takes really, really wanting it and then doing something to get it.  You have to challenge yourself with small amounts of discomfort and pushing past your fears.

As a Business Coach and Licensed Counselor, I hear my clients complain about not having enough clients, time, money…  They wish they had more!  Wishing usually follows complaining and neither will get you what you want.  You will get more of what you want by doing something that you have been avoiding.  Challenge yourself to confront your fears. Pick up the phone and reach out to a prospect or let go of a client that is draining your energy.

Three Tips for Making Your Wishes Come True!

  1. Realize when you are wishing and not getting results.
  2. Re-direct yourself to “What Can I Do Differently” to get what I want.
  3. Commit to doing what is hard to do.  Remember that progress is a process!

Combining a really strong desire to have what you want along with making some sacrifices will lead you to having more of what you want.  There is nothing wrong with wishing, but nothing changes from just wishing.  I wish it did 🙂
