Nothing Matters If You Don’t Like Yourself

When you don’t like yourself you can’t enjoy your success!  You don’t see any light because you are under a dark cloud.  Your negative thoughts are dictators directing you away from positive experiences.  Liking your self starts with stopping your mind when it wanders into dangerous waters.

Successful people can be hard on themselves.  When they do something “wrong” they are their worst enemy.  They don’t have their own back!  That qualifies as a sad story.  As a Licensed Counselor and Coach my mission is to help as many people as I can have a happier life.  To make a challenging transition you need to like yourself.  It’s way too hard otherwise.

You can work hard, achieve all your goals, have lots of friends and not like yourself.  How can that be?  Well, it actually occurs more then most people realize.  Anyone can sink into a slump and stop liking themselves.  We are all human!

Seven Ways To Like Yourself More!

  • Make a list of the things you like about yourself and why you like them.  Review the list regularly.
  • Accomplish something that isn’t easy for you to do.
  • Be your own best friend. Have your own back!
  • Set “loving” limits or boundaries to protect your priorities.  Say No when you need to.
  • Reach out for help and support.
  • Refocus negative thoughts towards something positive.  Be less critical of yourself and others.
  • Do things that make you feel good or at least after you do them… exercising, meditating and eating healthier foods.

Once you feel better about yourself everything gets better.  You can enjoy your strengths, successes, relationships and activities more then you ever imagined was possible.  It’s a wonderful thing!

Self love or liking yourself is the heart of happiness!  It’s worth pursuing.  Start with my first suggestion and let me know how you feel in a few weeks.  This stuff works and pretty quickly!
