Case Study: First, Feel. Second, Solve. Third, Take Action

Tired of Feeling frustrated, and not as happy in her work life as she thought she could be, Carole J. came to me for help in going out on her own.  Helping people go out on their own is one of my specialties and always the case, Carole’s trigger moment dealt with a relationship and a growing sense of anger and frustration with one of her business partners that built up over several months.  She was losing respect and trust in her ability to excellent work.  At her breaking point, a former client of mine referred her to me.  (My favorite way to get new clients!)

We began with a thorough life assessment using my Circles of Life diagram.  Her personal life was in decent shape: no debt, strong marriage, friends, good health.  The only thing missing was enough fun!  Together, we set her goals of working fewer hours, making more money, and doing more of what she loved, both at work and in her personal life.  She smiled saying, “Sounds good to me!”

Next we explored all her options, including partnering with someone else, starting her own consulting firm, or trying to make things better in her current arrangement.  It didn’t take long for Carole to decide on doing her own thing!  Still scared but grateful to have someone to guide and support her with the practical, and even more importantly, the emotional part of making such a transition.  Carole – with my business coaching – successfully launched her own company.
