Robust Referral Relationships: Part Two

IdeRobust Referral Relationships Part Two . Sourceal Referral Source

Someone who really, really wants to help you and loves making connections is an Ideal Referral Source. They speak with enthusiasm, are very convincing and love to share whatever they are excited about whether it is a good restaurant or a job well done by a terrific professional. Your Ideal Referral source can be a friend, family member, colleague, alum, your minister or rabbi, a member of your health club or tennis team. Your Ideal Referral Source is anyone who understands what you do, the clients you want to attract and isn’t shy about enthusiastically referring a friend or acquaintance to you.

As a professional working to build your business you want to nurture your relationships with your Ideal Referral Sources. Be attentive to their needs and appreciative of all they do for you. Be sure you do something especially nice for them after each referral. For starters pick up the phone and thank them and follow up with a hand written or email note. Take them out to lunch or dinner if it is an especially great referral or send a gift card or something memorable. If your Ideal Referral Source is a professional, respond in kind with a referral to them.

Mutually beneficial is the golden rule. Even if you are not sending clients to your referral sources, you want to help them in any way you can.

Call me for a complimentary consultation.  I’d love to help you!
