It’s common to connect to a higher power or spiritual practice when you are struggling emotionally. It’s easy to experience negative feelings during difficult transitions (job change, retirement, divorce or death.) Common feelings include lonely, hopeless, disconnected, unfulfilled and unhappy.
There are many ways to feel better. You can talk to a friend, exercise, take a nap, eat better, do something you enjoy…. Staying connected to your higher power or having Faith in Universal Love and goodness are excellent emotion management tools.
As a Business Coach (with a counseling background) for Entrepreneurs and Professionals my specialty is Emotions Management. I’ve noticed that people pursue a closer connection with their Higher Power when they are going through a difficult time. This makes sense as compassionate and caring energy helps you refocus on a more positive picture or outcome.
It’s easy to lose confidence and connection to self compassion and care. Calming techniques such as meditation, deep breathing and prayer are undeniably helpful.
A Personal Story:
During the earlier years of my life, I flipped between being very confident and happy to feeling worthless and unhappy. It’s a hard way to live. As a young adult I was determined to live differently. I turned to regular exercise and relentless pursuit of my personal and business goals. It helped but not enough. Fifteen years ago I began practicing “breath focused” yoga and keeping a “feelings” journal to stay connected to self-love. Now, I’m consistently happier.
As an entrepreneur or self-employed professional your Business Success depends on your ability to do good work, commitment to excellence and being able to stay calm and confident when others (employees, clients, colleagues) are upset or distressed.
Stay calm and carry on! Easier said than done. Try one of the techniques above and let me know how it goes. I appreciate your support 🙂
Cheers to Personal and Professional Success!
